Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant and deliciously green. Re-chargeable batteries have in the past been rather 'organised man in the shed' territory, requiring a bulky and ugly charger, and your ability to remember to charge the things. Whilst being environmentally friendly, they've been rather a pain to use. Now some bright spark has come up with these deeply clever, easy to use, and even cool-looking re-chargeable AA batteries.

You simply plug them into the USB ports on your computer to charge them up, then pop 'em into your electrical whatsit to use - they even produce 10-25% greater capacity than NiCD batteries. No bulky and ugly chargers plugged into the mains with cables snaking about, and as a bonus they don't look nerdy! The green tops flip open to reveal a USB plug and the ends of the batteries glow a gorgeous green as they charge. At last someone has twigged that encouraging people to be environmentally friendly it doable, it just requires producing cool and practical products, rather than beating people over the head with re-cycled cardboard. USB CELL Batteries are Ni-MH batteries.
Generally they deliver 10-25% greater capacity than NiCd's (Nickel Cadmium batteries) and are more environmentally friendly as they do not contain cadmium.

You need to charge cells before the first use.
Recommended charge time of 5 hours via USB or 7 hours in an approved 250 mA Ni-MH charger.
A short charge can give extra hours for a PC input device such as a mouse or a keyboard.
Suitable for ages 12years+.

It is normal for batteries to become warm during charging. May not be suitable for some recessed USB ports, or use in some tight barrel devices.
